Walhberg, wife split

August 19, 2008

Donnie Wahlberg and his wife are calling it quits after nearly nine years of marriage. He and Kim Fey Wahlberg have each filed for divorce in separate counties. Kim Wahlberg cited “irreconcilable differences” in her filings in Los Angele Superior Court; Donnie Wahlberg's petition was filed in Ventura County.

The couple married in August 1999 and separated this year. They have two sons, 15 and 7.

The move comes as Wahlberg, 39, prepares to tour with a reunited New Kids on the Block.

LENNOX HAS SPINAL SURGERY

Former Eurythmics singer Annie Lennox is recovering at her London home after spinal surgery to release an impinged nerve, her representatives said. She underwent an operation Friday following a back spasm she suffered at the international AIDS conference in Mexico City, where she was as an ambassador for Oxfam, according to a statement released yesterday by her management and record label in London.

Lennox, 53, recently launched a campaign called “Sing,” which includes a song she recorded with 23 female singers, including Madonna, to raise money for AIDS.

APPLEGATE CANCER-FREE

Actress Christina Applegate says she has a clean bill of health after undergoing treatment for breast cancer. “I'm clear,” Applegate tells ABC News' “Good Morning America” in an interview taped yesterday for airing this morning.

“Absolutely 100 percent clear and clean. It did not spread. They got everything out, so I'm definitely not going to die from breast cancer.”

The actress announced earlier this month that she was being treated for the disease.
